Pre-wedding | engagement session on Piha beach {West Auckland weddings photographer}

Excited to share with you amazing moments from Silvia & Chris's engagement pre-wedding session on Piha Beach {Auckland, West Coast of New Zealand}. I am so delighted to be their wedding photographer next year, not long to go now! Can't wait till couple's wedding!

We met on the gorgeous seaside, surrounded by rocks and mountains. It was such a great time, just walk and talk, discuss couple's story, wedding plans and relationship. It was a fantastic time, full of fun, love and positive vibe. I will always remember Chris's trick with jandals - intend carrying them in the hands while we were walking from one location to another {so they not in the frame while we walking bear feet} he just threw them in the air and needed to mention they fly far. Can't wait to see what else going to happen on their wedding day {ready for any surprises ;).

{Love story: Couple met when they were 17 through a mutual friend and fell in love from then on. They love to do together - "Everything, we consider ourselves best friends as well as a couple. We love travelling, we have been to 22 countries together, we love being outdoors but also like watching movies and relaxing with friends." Such a romantic relationship!

Piha beach pre-wedding engagement session {Auckland weddings photographer} Elena and Rick

We met with this amazing couple on Piha beach {Auckland, New Zealand} on Sunday rainy  afternoon. Really excited about couples engagement and upcoming wedding. Their pre-wedding session was a great opportunity to know better the couple, had some walk and talk and capture some stunning photos. Even rain only add to the atmosphere making photos more moody and dramatic.

I loved every single moment of our session, walking on the beach, climbing up the rocks and siting on the grass at sunset and even walking in the cold waves {yes, it was freezing, ha-ha!}. Couple been really brave to stand on the top of the cliff in front of the big ocean waves! Such amazing experience!

Elena & Rick shared their love story: "Rick and I met when we were studying in Otago. We were in the same marketing class, and got put in the same marketing group for an assignment. It started from there really, and our relationship developed. We did do long distance for about a year, while Rick was playing Ice Hockey in France and Australia, and while I was still at University. We have been together now for just over 5 years." Proposal: "We were in Queenstown for a long weekend, and had planned to do a day trip on the Routeburn track, so we were staying in Glenorchy. We went on the walk early in the morning and planned to get right up to the Routeburn Falls hut and back in a day. On the way back down, we pulled over to the side of the river, as we were quite tired, and Rick started acting strange. As I stood up, Rick quickly got down on one knee and started a very sweet speech. I couldn't quite believe it, it was very surreal, but super special. And of course I said yes :)" Such a sweet and romantic story, love!

Papamoa Beach - Tauranga engagement session {Bay of Plenty pre-wedding photographer}

I met with Nikki & Josh cloudy Saturday morning on Papamoa Beach {near Mt Maunghanui} - such a great spot in Tauranga {Bay of Plenty, NZ}. Couple contacted me as wedding photogpraher looking for engagement session at winter time. I been really excited and happy to capture special for them moments. 

Couple met each other: "at a youth group pool party. Best frIends for years. The day we met, the day Josh asked Nikki out and the day Josh proposed are all the same day. He proposed 7 years exactly from the day we first met at the beach at sunset". Their ideal date night: "Fireplace in winter, stars in summer". It's so romantic! I love when couples sharing with me their special moments and their story, its helps a lot to understand their vibe and relationship and capture photographs what truly shows the story, emotions and candid moments along with some portraits.

Its was freezing, windy and rain starts right after 20-30 min of our photo shoot. We still managed to get some beautiful and emotional photographs before that, I love and enjoyed every single moments with these amazing people, so excited about their upcoming wedding in Hamilton Gardens in September {watch this space!}.

Amazing time with Megan & Chris on their pre-wedding engagement session on Karekare Beach {Auckland, New Zealand}. Im as wedding photographer always excited to spend amazing time with my couples beforehand, get to know each other for feel on ease on the wedding day and get some stunning photographs, of course :)

Megan come over here all the way down from USA "I was visiting New Zealand for only three weeks but met Chris and decided to stay. Going on five years and he proposed on the New Year's countdown." Such a great story, sometimes things happening how mean to be!

This day was truly special, full of positive emotions, lots of walk on the sandy beach and near waterfall, enjoying amazing New Zealand wild landscapes. Pictures turned just fantastic!

Bethells Beach engagement-couples photo shoot {Auckland wedding photographer} Katrina and Marc

I met Katrina & Marc on Bethells beach {Auckland, New Zealand} at one of the Saturday's afternoons, they such a sweet couple, it was a real pleasure to walk together on the beach, talk about their engagement and wedding 's plans and get some stunning photos in between, emotional and romantic candid moments at pre-wedding session.

Couple shared their story:

"We met at university. The first thing Marc said to me was that he really wanted someone to cut into the rat bowel (because it was said that it was supposed to stink out the lab) – which made me laugh and I haven’t stopped laughing since. We’ve now been together 5 ½ years. We’ve travelled to a few places Samoa, Rarotonga, Bali and most recently Hawaii, as well as around New Zealand."

Proposal: " My friends and myself included were convinced that I was going to know when Marc was about to propose since we’d been together so long, we all expected that I was pick up on any subtle hints or clues. BUT one Tuesday (October 18th 2016) it happened! The day before Marc gave me a cute letter describing that he loved me and wanted a future together, but he did romantic things like that occasionally so I didn’t expect a thing. Then on the Tuesday when he got home after having our usual chat on the couch he said he had another letter… He gave this to me and there were no words apart from “this way up” and then cut out holes. I asked if this went with letter no.1 and he said yes and I fetched that (still none the wiser – expecting that he had planned a trip or something). I brought the letters back and then laid the cut out one on top of no1 and it said “Will you marry me”. Then when I moved the letter away from my face Marc was there down on one knee! Marc truly did surprise me because I couldn’t speak for minutes!". Such a great and romantic story!

Pre-wedding engagement beach photo shoot {Auckland weddings photographers}

Im really excited about upcoming Ilinke & Shaun's wedding, especially after couple's pre-wedding engagement photo shoot on one of the North Shore Auckland beach.

Ilinke's mum hand made a flower crown for this session, its looks so gorgeous! Amazing work!

Couple story: "We met through friends but what followed was an instant connection based on mutual respect, wanting the same things out of life and lots of laughter. We love watching movies and cooking together but mostly love experiencing life together by going on little adventures where we get to see new areas like waterfalls or little coffee shops etc"

It was amazing time together on the beach walking around and breath in all the atmosphere and get some romantic and playfulness moments captured.

We met with Tania & Vincent just before the sunset on Sunday evening in Parnell Rose Garden for their couples - engagement photo shoot. Lucky couple won our Giveaway with Auckland weddings. Im so excited about their upcoming wedding, congratulations and happy future together!

As photographer I love to capture special for couple moments in natural and artistic style. We had such amazing time together, pictures turned so beautiful, emotional and romantic with some intimate feeling what I really like.

Piha Beach couples photo shoot {Auckland wedding-engagement photographer NZ} Trelise and Alan

We had such a great time together with Trelise & Alan {our engagement photo shoot giveaway winners from Auckland Weddings} on Piha Beach {NZ}, their wedding coming up next year around Christmas time, so excited for this amazing couple!

I just loved this atmosphere on the beach - rocks, waves, sand, sunset! We had so much beautiful, romantic and emotional moments with this fun loving couple. Amazed by their love and energy!

Trelise told a story of the proposal, so beautiful and romantic!:

"Alan proposed on our 1 year anniversary in Santorini, Greece in June 2016. We had woken up early to watch the sunrise, so the paths were empty except for us. It was beautifully quiet, a lovely warm temperature, and just such a beautiful moment. We were at a view point on the island, looking out towards all the white houses and blue roofs, with the sun rising behind them, and we had a blue domed house right next to us (which we now refer to as "Our Dome"). Alan got down on one knee, on a cobbled path, and had to wait a few moments for an answer from me as I thought I was still asleep and dreaming!! A beautiful stray dog was the only witness to our special moment. We then had a champagne breakfast at our Cave, and spent the rest of the day out on a catamaran exploring Santorini and swimming in the bluest of blue oceans." Amazing dreamy moment!

I love every single moment of our session, there was freezing, windy,cloudy and sunny. We are survived the weather conditions! :)

Kumeu farm engagement session {Auckland NZ wedding-couples photographer} Hana and Aidan

Beautiful engagement session and great time with Hana & Aidan on their farm in Kumeu, Auckland NZ (there was just enough time before pure rain started, so much positive emotions though!).

We met on a blind date set up by a mutual friend. I needed a date for my Uncle's wedding on Waiheke island and Aidan put his hand up to take me. 3 years on and we've gotten engaged :)

Excited about their wedding up north in Russell, not long to go now! Im so excited to be their wedding photographer and appreciate couple share with me so special moments!

Hamilton Gardens engagement photo shoot {New Zealand wedding - couple photographer} Megan and Chris

We had amazing time in Hamilton Gardens {New Zealand} with Megan & Chris, such a beautiful and romantic couple. Im really excited about their upcoming wedding in Gisborne next year, such a honour to be their wedding photographer, especially after knowing this couple and spent with them more time! This engagement photo shoot definitely helps us better know each other, understand how we are roll and feel more relaxed on the wedding day and get more natural photographs. I love to spend more time with my awesome wedding clients!

This couple have amazing story as they met each in High School and over 10 years together! What a long happy time! Their love became even stronger.

We met at Saturday evening in Hamilton Gardens {its been close to rainy weather but luckily we managed to finish our session just before pure rain starts. There was some spacial atmosphere. Love is all  around!

Wedding details pictures {Auckland-Hamilton couples-engagement photographer}

Rings, flowers, veil, shoes etc, I love all these little details, treasured thing on the weddings. Each couple put a lot of effort to choose wedding style, theme, details, items which mean a lot to them.

This planning process start right from engagement till last day before the big day! I absolutely understand how much work couple put into this and how important to capture all this little details for them.

Its also add a lot to the wedding story, let feel the atmosphere and also showing this day decor, which can take a good spot in wedding album as well.

Its such a treasured moments showing this important for bride and groom day!

Kariotahi beach couples photo shoot | Auckland wedding photographer

OLGA & MARTIN

Kariotahi beach in South Auckland (not far from Waiuku) is a stunning location for any couples photo shoot. This weekend I met my lovely couple / friends just before the sunset to make special pictures for them.

This couple few years married and had 2 year old little one. Good time to show their love and connection. As Olga been joking during the photo shoot - this type of session should be included in all psychological course for every couple who wanted to refresh their relationship and remember how much they love each other. What a great idea! I should think about it, how to make all families live happily ever after :)

We start our session next to the beach at grass areas then walk at the sand and finished session on the top of the hill meeting beautiful sunset. 

Olga and Martin; so romantic and fun loving couple. I really enjoyed to watch them cuddling each other, joking and playing around. It was a cute moment when Martin helped Olga to move sand out of the shoes (she might be feel like Cinderella) and put flower in her hair. 

Love all the moments of our photo shoot. Enjoy it too!

Location. Location. Location! Place for photo shoot. Family photography

Good photographer could do a great job in any place and location, work with different lighting situation, composition, landscape etc. But its really important question for you - what location to choose, what best suits your personality, your style and photo session ideas?

Place for photo shoot can have a great influence for picture atmosphere. Look at this picture. Girls walking forward something. If we have it in usual place (road, grass field) its could be a usual picture. But look at this background - beautiful beach, sand, water, hill, rocks, moody atmosphere. And everything just looks so magic and unreal, what a gorgeous atmosphere! 

Location - Location - Location!!!

So lets talk about photo shoot locations! what the options we have? Here list some obvious places what you could choose:

1. Your house and garden/ back yard. Did you ever consider to take a pictures around your place? You could always find nice spots around and be in familiar place, what sometimes really important, especially with newborn, kids, family photo shoots, head shots etc.

Nature- is one of the best option for photo shoot. Freedom, natural environment, beauty around, natural light

2. Park / forest / gardens - 

3. Beach / seaside / rocks

4. River / Lake / Waterfalls

5. Field - good for family / couples photo shoot / kids and actually any session, especially if you have some hills/mountain or forest at background.

6. Barn - its a farm style feeling, country spirit. Go for it if you love it.

City, building by peoples places:

7. Church / office / and other official formal places

8. Show place (stage) - your singing, dance show, and any other entertaining thing, we capture all this on-stage moments!  

9. Sport place (field, ice rink, ) - competitions, matches, rounds, sets - all for shooting. Fast, passion, alive moments!

10. City buildings, factory and other industrial places - you could do portraits, couple session, engagement and any others in modern industrial style, with buildings around, lines, different textures and materials. Its also works good for black and white pictures.

11. Kids places - childcare / playground / play centre - where else to shoot kids - in their natural environment when they happy, love to play, and enjoy any second of photo shoot

12. Mix of natural and building environment - its good to have different options in one location - park near the beach, field and barn, playground and park, place near your house and your own rooms etc. So you can have different variety of shots with different atmosphere and outfits.

13. and Any others ideas - you can use any ideas what pop in your head, be creative and thoughtful. Where you feel comfortable, fun, what place connect with your soul and your photo shoot ideas? if you don't know the answer yet we can discuss different variants and choose the best option! And have fun!

Cornwall park stunning couples love story {Auckland engagement-wedding photographer}

Couples photo shoot always full of love, feelings, fun moments. They show raw emotions, relationships, couples personality, their love story. :) Yes, each couple have own character and personality. Not just 2 different characters, but one for both :) And I need try to understand what the couple looks like, what they love to do, how they spend their downtime, is it more quiet or full of fun and adventure time... I want know and capture their true story!

Im happy Maria and Taz share with me evening at Cornwall park where we get to have best photo shoot ever with so much positive emotions. These guys are just amazing! Im truly in love :)

We had so much fun, creativity, tender moments. And guys brought a lot stuff what was really helpful to made right picture in the frame with atmosphere: flowers, magazines, bubbles, champagne, candies, "Love story" sign, scarfs etc Its great to have so many ideas and options  to choose from and use for special love atmosphere shots.

I been so happy and inspired to come back home and kissed my husband (other peoples feelings made me refresh my own one :) Ha-ha!

I wish I will have the same great experience with every couple and all clients/friends!

It was really hard to choose the best pictures because guys just amazing, they just rock it!
