We had a terrific time with Alexandra & James on their pre-wedding engagement photo shoot at Karekare Falls next to the beach {West Auckland, New Zealand}. This couple was just amazing, brave, adventurous, ready to walk and talk under the rain and capture some stunning photographs, such a dream for any wedding photographer! Can't wait till their wedding in December in Matakana! Not long to go now!

The couple shared their love story: "We first met at Chapel Bar on Ponsonby Road on Sunday, 10th November 2013. I saw James from across the room and said: "I am going to marry that guy." When we first met, it was a world wind love affair. We spent ten days together before James flew around the world to work in the Caribbean for three months. I waited for him, and it was the best decision I ever made. He then quit his job and moved back to NZ full-time."

The proposal has been so beautiful and romantic: "It was a Monday. We went for a walk after work, and we were just chatting as normal until James suggested a change in our usual route. He took me down to Herne Bay Wharf which is somewhere very special to him. We walked down and stood to gaze out at the water taking in the beautiful view. After a couple of minutes, I noticed that James was acting a little strange and asked him what was wrong - at that moment he looked at me, and I just knew what was about to happen. He got down on one knee and asked me to marry him. Of course, I said yes." It is such a unique story!

Auckland Botanic Gardens Engagement Session - Spring Cherry Blossom {Waikato wedding photographer} sneak peek

I'm so excited to share with you an engagement session sneak peek with Megan & Daniel; photo shoot took place in Auckland Botanic Gardens, right at the spring season cherry blossom tree. It was a great pleasure for me, Waikato wedding photographer to take some unique, natural, candid and emotional photos for this gorgeous couple.

We met with bride and groom at the Botanic Gardens right before the sunset and walked around and talk about their engagement and upcoming wedding. Auckland West Coast Beach Photo Shoot in How He Asked {New Zealand wedding photographers}

Fantastic news coming from overseas: breathtaking Auckland West Coast Beach photo shoot with Katrina & Marc {on Bethells Beach} just been published in How He Asked by The Knot.

Our engagement session took place on the beautiful open space black sand beach near Waitakere Ranges in West Auckland, not far from Kumeu. We met with a couple just before the sunset and spent amazing time together - walking in the grass, running in the waves, climbing on the rocks and walking into the cave. Unforgettable memories!

Amazing time with Megan & Chris on their pre-wedding engagement session on Karekare Beach {Auckland, New Zealand}. Im as wedding photographer always excited to spend amazing time with my couples beforehand, get to know each other for feel on ease on the wedding day and get some stunning photographs, of course :)

Megan come over here all the way down from USA "I was visiting New Zealand for only three weeks but met Chris and decided to stay. Going on five years and he proposed on the New Year's countdown." Such a great story, sometimes things happening how mean to be!

This day was truly special, full of positive emotions, lots of walk on the sandy beach and near waterfall, enjoying amazing New Zealand wild landscapes. Pictures turned just fantastic!

Pre-wedding engagement beach photo shoot {Auckland weddings photographers}

Im really excited about upcoming Ilinke & Shaun's wedding, especially after couple's pre-wedding engagement photo shoot on one of the North Shore Auckland beach.

Ilinke's mum hand made a flower crown for this session, its looks so gorgeous! Amazing work!

Couple story: "We met through friends but what followed was an instant connection based on mutual respect, wanting the same things out of life and lots of laughter. We love watching movies and cooking together but mostly love experiencing life together by going on little adventures where we get to see new areas like waterfalls or little coffee shops etc"

It was amazing time together on the beach walking around and breath in all the atmosphere and get some romantic and playfulness moments captured.

What a great time in Karangahake George {Waikato, New Zealand} we had with amazing couple - Madeline & Barry on their engagement photo shoot. Im as photographer never seen such a stunning location with plenty of photo opportunities! River, stones, mountains, concrete constructions {one of them even look like Jungle Book!}, mines, tunnels, wiggly bridges and much more. We been lost there forever enjoying walking on the tracks and talking, discussed couple's upcoming wedding in Leigh {up way from Auckland}, coming up really soon, just in few months time and had a great time together!

Beautiful engagement session and great time with Hana & Aidan on their farm in Kumeu, Auckland NZ (there was just enough time before pure rain started, so much positive emotions though!).

We met on a blind date set up by a mutual friend. I needed a date for my Uncle's wedding on Waiheke island and Aidan put his hand up to take me. 3 years on and we've gotten engaged :)

Excited about their wedding up north in Russell, not long to go now! Im so excited to be their wedding photographer and appreciate couple share with me so special moments!

Hamilton Gardens engagement photo shoot {New Zealand wedding - couple photographer} Megan and Chris

We had amazing time in Hamilton Gardens {New Zealand} with Megan & Chris, such a beautiful and romantic couple. Im really excited about their upcoming wedding in Gisborne next year, such a honour to be their wedding photographer, especially after knowing this couple and spent with them more time! This engagement photo shoot definitely helps us better know each other, understand how we are roll and feel more relaxed on the wedding day and get more natural photographs. I love to spend more time with my awesome wedding clients!

This couple have amazing story as they met each in High School and over 10 years together! What a long happy time! Their love became even stronger.

We met at Saturday evening in Hamilton Gardens {its been close to rainy weather but luckily we managed to finish our session just before pure rain starts. There was some spacial atmosphere. Love is all  around!

First dance {Auckland wedding-engagement photographer | emotional couples photography}

First dance is such a special moment for each couple on their wedding day. Thats why I often have wedding bookings covering time from getting ready till first dance. Its great memories and such special emotional moments.

You can see how much effort couples put into preparation for this dance to their families and guests (and themselves of course!), some couples even taking dance lessons before the wedding. I absolutely love it and respect this effort. I been taking myself to dance classes for many years from childhood. Its so special  when you feel music and movement, and it all comes together with emotions!

Intimate photography - couples moments {Auckland-Hamilton wedding | engagement photographer}

Intimate couples moments are one of the most important and special at wedding day (and engagement session as well). Each couple is so different and have own special wedding schedule and ideas in place, but still very important to have at least half an hour during this hectic time to have quiet romantic moments and get stunning photographs.

These pictures will be one of the most treasured ones and these moments along away from the guest will give you some ability to rest and relax.

Thats why I always recommend to include an intimate session | location shoot in the schedule and do my best to have enjoyable and relaxable time together.

There could be different options to incorporate these moments in your wedding day: first thing in morning after getting ready (its often goes with first look), between ceremony and reception, during the reception (have some moments away from the guests and get stunning light at sunset).

I also love to do bridal session (pre-wedding photo shoot) or post-wedding photo shoot, which allows to choose different location (be really far from the wedding location and have different atmosphere). No on elicited in time, so no hurry! Everyone feel relaxed :) Also its gives the ability for brides trash the dress (lay on the sand, move in the water, what can be big fun!).

For example, one of my recent weddings with Daria & Dmitry been in Auckland city (Russian Orthodox church and Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron), so there was no option for incorporate outdoor photo shoot on the nature, so we organised beach post-wedding session 2 weeks after their wedding. Pictures turned just amazing!

Sometimes location just perfect for natural shots. My last weekend wedding been at South Auckland Formosa Golf Resort. It was so great to have a ride around golf course located next to the seaside with amazing views.

It is so important to do an intimate session in this stunning picturesque views!
